Grim heart

Tonight mom said something that hurt me without her knowing t.

In Malaysian high school, once you've passed PMR (form 3, aged 15), you can select the education stream you wish to pursue. There's science stream, where you'll study biology, chemistry & physics. There's also sub-science. Where you'll choose one of the science subject. Lastly, the art stream. In here, you'll either embark in accounting & economics, literature or art itself. To those who've been living under the rock, Malaysian parents are very (too much actually) conscious/paranoid over where their children will be placed in the stream.

Personally, I don't think it's an issue over the students gets placed, it's about how hard they can work to prove themselves.

Okay, back to what mom said. She got angry that lil' bro's math wasn't that impressive in his exam. Hey, I know how it feels.. I was a slowpoke in math!!! So she told him that he needs to buck up in his studies or he'll end up in the art stream. What I'm about to write may hurt others. So beware.. She said only 'losers' get into the art stream.

I'm not sure if she recalls the fact that I was in the art stream. Look how I turned out? I don't think I'm that bad... I wasn't even sure if she noticed my grim expression after she made the remark.

I wasn't always at the top of my game in high school. I didn't know what I was capable of back then. Hell, I didn't even know who I was! Society puts too much preassure on young children when they're suppose to enjoy early education. Furthermore, they are clueatered and classified so early in age.

This is where people like Marx and Emerson are against social norms. I understand now. We thrive to fulfill others' expectations than our own. I wish I could tell my brother he has nothing to worry about for as long as he studies hard.

Totoro!

I just watched this movie, its not new so it may not be cool to you, called My Neighbor Totoro.
You can read all the details on the movie here and here.

First things first, Totoro (pic above) is THE most adorable thing in the world!!!!
 (Ok, next to Snorlax(pic below))

It seems that I have a thing for creatures that are big, fuzzy and who are sleepy heads.
hehehe... I like to sleep too!

Second of all, what is so great about the movie?
1. Its widely recognised.
2. Its full of warm fuzzy feeling.
3. You really feel like a kid again watching this.
4. The storyline is simple yet full of emotions (if you don't get the film, you must be dumb!)

Lastly, I highly recommend everyone to watch this or you'll never know the incredible powers that Totoro posses without uttering a single word!

Get a boyfriend, NOT Gundam!

Apparently my little brother felt slightly concerned when I was more busy looking for the specific Gundam model as opposed to looking for a boyfriend. That is not in the priority list bro..

See, even the bunny doesn't care..

This is what I get for watching How I Met Your Mother.. The education of a lifetime! Barney Stinson's fail-proof theories.. Nothing beats that. Not even the Rachel haircut or Gossip Girls fashion.

If You Really Knew Me...

If you're an avid watcher of MTV, the title might struck you due to the show of the same title.

Out of the gazillion shows MTV has produced, I admire this the most. I have to say, even that I have friends, none of them know the real story about me. Watching that show several times made me realised that.

I admit that I'm different. Who isn't? But the amount of prejudice thoughts bombarded against me is, how should i put it?, hurtful? The ones who hurt you the most are the ones closest to you. This I know FAR too well. I have been discouraged to live the life I wanted by the ones that was supposed to encourage me.

To those out there who feel that their life is pushed around like a bean bag, just know that the sun will always rise with you tomorrow. Be nice to those who hurt you in hoping that they will change and mature in time.

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is a hard battle" - Plato

Love. Not hate.

To forgive is to give a small room inside your heart ( I know watching too much Korean movies has its perks).

I wish we can have Challenge Day in our campus. That would be as wicked as getting a Darth Vader helmet! And you know how cool that is?...

*facepalm*

I deserved it for not knowing that the library would be closed today. IT'S A PUBLIC HOLIDAY! DUH!

Bobby-ah! Why you no check the library's FB for update??

Look at the bright side, I'm out of my room. I'm a lazy bum who refuses to leave the room besides going to class and buying food at the cafeteria. See, behind every dark cloud there's a silver lining.

K-Movie reviews!

I'm gonna make this a regular thing to do here.. People need to know there are other things aside from K-pop music from the land of South Korea.

   Movies to recommend (so far):
1. A Moment to Remember
- Only if you have some extra tears to spare. I won' excatly say it was Jung Woo Sung's best performance, but it was worth seeing the cry baby side of him.

2. Ajusshi
- People who have no clue who is Won Bin is gonna get a huge slap on the face from this movie and his awesome-ness! BEST MOVIE of 2010
3. Antique Bakery
 - Humor + confusing storyline + cake (millions of it!) = DELICIOUS!

4. Mother
- Another of Won Bin's best performance. You will appreciate your mother more after watching this. Seriously!

I can only think of these so far.. Most of the other movies are out of my imagination now..

Mentally exhausted! What's new?

The thing with university programme is that it's fun. It'll make you want to join just to hang with you friends. But the workload can definitely kill you. Tips on survival? Don't choose shitty people as your committee. Trust the seniors when they say "He's useless" eventhough he's cool.

"Penat sial! Ape yang aku buat sampai penat gile?"

Those are the sommon things you'd say when there are TONES of work to do but you have no idea what they are. Thats how I felt yesterday coming back from 2 meetings. ELITS' ((English Language and Literature Society) to those BENL students who still don't know ELITS should be shot! We are dedicated to serve you) and NTW's (Nusantara Theater Week). Why won't people want to join ELITS activities? BENL students are keeping a distant from us. Key line here: WE ARE HERE TO MAKE YOUR 4 MISERABLE YEARS ON CAMPUS FUN!. Don't people know they get certificate and merits for joining. Sure, there's work. Hey, no pain, no gain. I had to learned the hard way that life on campus needs more activities. Take it from me, be active! It pays..
